The fact that the book was titled Dirty Letters and really only had one or two racy letters did disappoint me quite a bit. I was hoping for a bunch of racy letters exchanged between the two main characters and then after they meet, the book would get steamy and they would do some of the things they wrote to each other about. However, this book turned out much differently that I had expected. Though not necessarily bad, I just wanted a bit more tension and sizzle. My second book from this co-authorship and I'm beginning to think that their titles might not be for me? I can only speak for Ward and Keeland's collaborative efforts as I comment on this, but more than not finding myself comfortably satisfied with any reading bout, I always seem to come up bothered by collected irritations. My first was Hate Notes, and while I didn't love it, it was a reasonably decent romance that introduces a unique conflict piece in place of a commonly monotonous one. Dirty Letters on the other hand? I had my fair share of reservations pre-reading but I did appreciate where the story was heading with the unfolding pen-friends situation, but most especially with Luca's mental health recovery, so fairly content to keep moving forward with it I was. It seemed to work in its own gentle, truthful and plain-spoken way. However, I seem to be following an underwhelming trend where what I believe I'll be getting from a story isn't what I actually get. I do have a unique fascination for the idea of an epistolary romance, one where a foundation is built upon that very special long-distance relationship that belongs to you, them and the intimacy no one else can touch. It's magical, but Dirty Letters was just not quite that. And the title further misleads by promise. You are free to offer multiple scenes, topics, or fantasies, but at least one of them must meet the 175 word requirement by itself. no active strikes, and a post or comment of theirs is removed, no action other than the removal will be taken. So this precious book showed me that you cannot compare losing a friend to losing a parent or even to losing the love of your life because the pain of losing a friend lasts longer and it hurts Many people use WhatsApp to sext people they already know (and who want to keep their sexts private from their partners). However, you can find strangers to sext on the app as well. And before I start sharing quotations from the book, let me clarify something. I first thought I was reading an M/M book as I thought Luca was the guy's name so in case you think the same, let me make it clear that Luca is the heroine, Griffin is the hero. Kudos to awesome choice of names!
